- About Us -

Camp Is About Relationships

Camp Thurman’s Summer Staff — a dedicated team of nearly 300 high school students and adults — is what makes the camp experience truly unforgettable. Over the course of 10 weeks, they serve in diverse roles such as group leaders, lifeguards, ropes instructors, media team members, office staff, and more. Through their energy and care, they create a fun and memorable environment, share the Gospel, enjoy the outdoors, and build lasting connections with campers.

“Devote yourselves to prayer; stay alert in it with thanksgiving. At the same time, pray also for us that God may open a door to us for the word, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am in chains, so that I may make it known as I should. Act wisely toward outsiders, making the most of the time. Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer each person.”

– Colossians 4:2-6 CSB

”The marines taught me and made me into a good man. But God put me around the people at Camp to help me become a great man and to regain my faith that I had previously lost.”
”I have never had a strong community because I didn’t grow up in church. Getting to be at Camp and to be around people who have the heart to help you pursue Christ is something I haven’t found anywhere else.”
”I come back every summer because of the opportunity I have to serve the kids. Their week of Camp might be the only time throughout the entire year that they get to hear about Christ, and I don’t want to miss the chance to serve them.”
