Abilene attends ACU, and is a major in Music Education. His plans entail working as a High School Band Director. This is Abilene’s first year at CT, and is very excited to see and help all the smiling kids at Camp!

Apollo has worked at camp thurman for 4 summers. He will be playing football in the fall at Baylor. There, he will study biochemistry. Apollo enjoys being outside, playing sports, and especially going to the beach. This summer he is most excited  about spending time with the campers and lifeguarding!

This is Abeline's first smmer


Apple was a camper at Camp Thurman and is now    on her second year working as a counselor at CT.      She attends Texas A&M University and is studying      sociology and English. She plans to attend    occupational therapy school upon completing        her undergraduate education, and hopes to have      a career encompassing her love for children and      animals. She is so excited for this summer and      can’t wait to be back at the most wonderful          camp ever!

A-Ray attends Oklahoma State University and      studies history in hopes to get his teaching          certificate to teach high school. He has worked        at Camp Thurman for 4 years. A-Ray loves the          outdoors and has always had a blast at Camp        Thurman, but more importantly he loves Jesus          and is most excited to teach kids all about Him!

Arizona is so excited to be a counselor at CT this summer! She was a camper for 9 years and can’t      wait to share God’s word with the campers! In the      fall Arizona is leaving on the World Race Gap Year    (a 9 month mission trip to Swaziland, Ethiopia          and Cambodia). When she returns, Arizona plans        on majoring in nursing at Samford University.            She can’t wait to meet your campers!

Arpeggio attends Texas A&M University in        College Station studying Biomedical Sciences      with a minor in Business. She was a camper at        Camp Thurman for 10 years and this will be her          5th year on staff. She loves spending her summers    outdoors sharing the Joy of the gospel with her        campers. Fun Fact: Her favorite food is spaghetti.

Atari has been with Camp Thurman for 3 previous    summers, as well as a camper since he was five!      He just completed his first year at Texas A&M as          an engineering student, and hopes to become a    mechanical engineer after school! His favorite      parts of camp are the ropes courses and skits.        Atari loves talking to kids on the challenge courses  and helping  them experience new things. He is      super excited for what the Lord will do this      summer through Camp!

Azul is attending Arkansas Tech University this    coming school year. This is his first year working        at Camp Thurman. What I love about camp is the      environment and the people in it. Fun Fact: Azul      played football all 4 years of high school.

Binky will be attending TCC this fall for her basics      and will transfer to Ole Miss to get her degree in      psychology. Binky has worked at Camp Thurman        for four summers. God has had a huge impact on      Binky as a camper, and as a staff member. Binky is    so excited for this summer and the opportunities        it brings!

Birks is an Elementary Education Major at Texas      A&M, WHOOP! This will be Birks 3rd summer      working at Camp Thurman. Birks loves camp      because it allows for there to be daily encounters      with Jesus as well as opportunities to try new      things and grow alongside some amazing friends.

This is Burlap’s 5th summer serving at Camp      Thurman! She began her love for CT as a camper        in 2nd grade, and that love has only grown since.      She is studying Biology with a minor in Spanish at      DBU and can’t wait to see how the Lord might use      her in the future. Her favorite thing is seeing the joy  of the Lord so present in every activity at camp!

Cadenza is a second-year counselor and has          been a camper at CT since she was four. She        loves working at camp because she gets to share God’s love with others. Cadenza is a special                  needs TA.

Caicos attends Dallas Baptist University majoring    in elementary education. She attended Camp      Thurman from the ages seven to thirteen and now    this is her fourth summer working with us. Caicos      has had a passion for kids since day one and can’t      wait to pour Jesus into their little hearts more and    more every day!

This is Canyon’s first summer at Camp Thurman        and she is so excited to be here! She believes      that attending camp is such a precious experience and wants to make it the best for each of her campers. Canyon will be attending Tarleton        State University this Fall and will be studying Agricultural Education. Canyon raises livestock      and loves to have fun. Canyon is so ready to experience CT with her camper’s and cant wait          to meet them!

Chandelier will be attending Paul Mitchell        Cosmetology Academy in the fall. She has been a    camper, CITIT, CIT, and assistant at Camp Thurman    and has loved every minute of it! Chandelier loves    to paint, be outdoors, and hang out with                    her friends!

This summer will be Cheeseburger’s third      summer working at Camp Thurman. He hopes to    study psychology at college. He loves hearing        the kids tell stories and playing councilor hunt      with them. He loves running track and the              New York Giants.

Cocoa Bean

Cocoa Bean is going to be a Senior at the          University of North Texas, majoring in elementary      education. She loves Camp Thurman because it is      like a second family to her, and camp has given          her the opportunity to share the love of Jesus with    so many people!

Cola loves Camp Thurman and is so excited to          be back again this summer! She has been going        to Camp Thurman since she was a sunshine      camper and this will be her 4th summer working      on staff. She will be attending Abilene Christian      University in the fall to major in Advertising and    Public Relations. Cola is so excited to get to    experience another summer of sunshine and      teaching campers about the love of Jesus!

Colossus is a Pre-Physical Therapy, Exercise        Science freshman at Hardin-Simmons University      in Abilene, TX. After he finishes his undergraduate      degree, he hopes to attend a PT school to further      his studies. This will be his first year as a counselor,  and he is very excited to start his new experience      at Camp Thurman.

Dash plans to attend TCC to complete his basics,      and then transfer to UTA to get his masters degree    in nursing. He has attended Camp Thurman since      he was in third grade, and this will be his third      summer on staff. Dash is excited to be able to          share the gospel with the campers!
