Blake has been at Camp Thurman since he was a camper at 8 years old. He has served in every area of staff imaginable here at CT, from CIT to Summer Counselor to Night Camp Director. He holds a Public Relations and Marketing from Texas Tech University (Wreck ’em), was named Executive Director in the Fall of 2013 and has been serving in that role ever since.
Courtney grew up as a “camp girl,” and was excited to join Camp Thurman Summer Staff after graduating high school in 2007. Her love of children, Jesus and the outdoors is what has kept her serving at CT ever since. After graduating from The University of Texas at Austin (Hook ‘em Horns), she began working on the full-time staff in 2011.
Bart has been involved with Camp Thurman for more than half his life. He began working at camp when he was 12 years old following in the footsteps of his older brothers Brad and Blake. This summer will be his 27th. He has served many roles over his years at camp and is currently the Challenge Course Director.
Challenge Adventure Programs
Cindy’s passion and life’s work has been inspiring people to be lifelong learners and to grow in their understanding of the person God created them to be! Even as a young child she knew that being an educator was God’s calling for her life. She graduated from Texas Wesleyan University and began a teaching career in public education.

Mary grew up in Arizona, graduated from TCU and worked with AISD until joining the Camp Thurman family in 2008. Mary has enjoyed working in several capacities on staff, Community Outreach, Facilitator, Personnel Coordinator and currently serves as Director of the Challenge Adventure Program. Mary’s passion for Camp ministry began while watching her children grow up from Sunshine Campers to Leadership Summer Staff.
Nate grew up in Arlington and was a camper at Camp Thurman. In 2012, he became a counselor at CT and has been at CT ever since. He is passionate about equipping believers with transformative Gospel truths so they can live confidently into their identity in Christ and joyfully share God’s love with others in this world that is broken by sin and suffering.
Taylor was born and raised in the DFW area and has had many roles at Camp Thurman in the past 9 years. She has always had a passion for camp ministry, which began when she gave her life to Christ at the age of 17 at a summer camp. At Camp Thurman she started as a counselor and has work for the past 8 years with Camp Thurman’s night camp programs.
Glenda is a native Texan and has lived most of her life in the DFW area. In the early 90’s, when CT was still a part of the Pantego Bible Church ministry, participants in her summer computer camps shared time between the school and camp activities. She joined the staff of Camp Thurman in 1996, when she began to write the computer program for registration.
Kristin’s history with Camp Thurman began in 1978, as a camp CIT, then assistant and horse wrangler. She and her horse Shoshone shared rides daily with the campers. Each year after that she worked as an assistant until she was old enough to be a counselor.
Stephen grew up just around the corner from camp and attended camp as a camper. He then started working at camp in 2009 in the summers and then later came became a full-time staff member. He attends First Christian Church Arlington where he grew up in the Word of God.
Haley first came to Camp Thurman as a happy camper in the 1990s. In 2007 she joined the summer staff as a counselor and has had the opportunity over the years to serve in many areas at camp from the office to night camp to lifeguarding to taking photos and more! She joined the full time staff in 2014 to serve with finances.
Nathan grew up in Fort Worth and is a graduate of Texas A&M University. He started as a Camp Thurman camper in 2000, began working as a CIT in 2010, and has worked every summer since. Nathan has helped in many different areas including ropes courses, facility maintenance, and now finances.
Allena first came to Camp Thurman as a camper in the 2000’s. She became a summer staff member in 2016 working mostly media, shadowing the head media man at the time, Siberia! Allena has always loved serving as a part of Camp’s ministry, and was able to begin serving full time in the summer of 2020 as the head of the media department!
