A-Ray attended Camp Thurman as a camper since he was 9 years old, and then joined the summer
staff in 2017. Camp Thurman is a second home to him, and he has loved the privilege of serving in
every aspect of camp. A-Ray graduated from Dallas Baptist University with a Bachelor of Arts in
History and an emphasis in education. He plans to teach social studies at the secondary level
this fall. A-Ray loves Camp Thurman because it has been a place that has challenged him to grow
in his faith, provided him a Christian community full of people who love and care deeply about
each other, and given him countless memories that he will never forget.
