There are a few items essential to the camp experience.
Just like any old summer camp, lunch is vital. A good lunch will help keep your camper going strong, especially through the hotter parts of the day. Proteins, fruits, or anything your camper enjoys eating is a good lunch to pack. Gatorade or another sports drink always hits the spot!
Speaking of hot days, we always go swimming twice a day. To stay prepared for the pool, make sure your camper has a towel and spray-on sunscreen (please, no rub-on sunscreen). While these two items aren’t a necessity, if goggles or earplugs are something your camper wants or needs, go ahead and throw those in there as well.
One incredibly useful piece of advice – make sure EVERYTHING in your campers bag is labeled with their name on it, including the bag itself!
Here’s our shortlist for the do’s and don’ts:
In the bag:
- A good lunch
- A towel
- Spray-on sunscreen
- Swim-gear
- A refillable water bottle (we also provide one for the week)
- Close-toed shoes (if your camper is not already wearing them)
Leave it at home:
- Electronics – including cell phones
- Jewelry
- Toys
- Any of value (items tend to go missing often)
- Any change of clothes
A note on bathing suits: We do not have a suitable area to change in and out of swim wear into other clothes. Here at Camp, we are accustom to wearing our swimwear all day, with a shirt and/or shorts to wear while not in the pool. Please plan on something similar. Please refer to the Camper Code of Conduct for more information regarding swim wear.
